Caerphilly made a shaky start to the match with Llanelli attacking heavily within the first few minutes. Caerphilly were forced to defence deeply. Within the opening five minutes, Caerphilly goalkeeper Nia Rich was beaten by Franklin in the area after the Llanelli striker slotted the ball. With Caerphilly's attacking momentum lost and Llanelli visibly lifted from the early goal, Franklin added a second before half-time.
