Head of Juniors Bethan Receives FAW Community Coach of the Year Award: A Testament to Dedication and Leadership

August 9, 2023

The hard work and dedication of Bethan, our esteemed Head of Juniors, have not gone unnoticed, as she proudly receives the FAW Community Coach of the Year award for the South Wales region.

This accolade is a true reflection of her commitment to the sport and the remarkable impact she has made within our community.

Bethan's journey with our club spans an impressive 17 years, during which she has transitioned from being a junior and ladies player to becoming the driving force behind our juniors section. Her vision led to the establishment of this vital segment a year before the onset of the lockdown. Since then, Bethan's leadership has resulted in the participation of over 45 girls in weekly training sessions. Moreover, her efforts have led to the formation of active U7s, U11s, and U12s teams, all set to compete in the SWWGL in the upcoming season.

A true testament to Bethan's capabilities is her adeptness at building a team of dedicated coaches who share her passion for the sport. Under her guidance, these coaches have embarked on their own coaching journeys, contributing to the growth and development of our players.

Bethan's commitment to excellence is further underscored by her accomplishments. Her attainment of the FAW C License award is a clear reflection of her dedication to honing her coaching skills. Last season, she played a pivotal role as an assistant coach for Newport County Development Centre's Girls U14s team. Notably, Bethan is also actively engaged in the FAW BeFootball mentoring program, showcasing her commitment to ongoing improvement. Her pursuit of excellence continues as she sets her sights on completing her B License coaching award this year.

The recent success of the Caerphilly Castle FC Football Festival, in which Bethan played an integral role in its organization, stands as a testament to her dedication and organizational acumen. The festival's triumph is a tribute to her ability to bring people together in celebration of football and community.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Bethan for her remarkable achievements and for being recognized as the FAW Community Coach of the Year. Her passion, leadership, and unwavering commitment serve as an inspiration to us all. As a club, we are truly proud of her and look forward to witnessing her continued growth and success.
