The first round of the FAW Women's Cup 22/23 was a chance for Caerphilly to step out of the league and into a cup run, meeting Lucas Cwmbran away from home on Cwmbran's turf.
Caerphilly surprised with an early 2 goals inside of the first 5 minutes, the first by Lauren Anderson at 2 minutes and the next by Rachel Deans at 5 minutes.
The game settled then, both teams finding a rhythm.
The next goal was Anderson again at 24 minutes, building momentum for Caerphilly although it didn't deter Cwmbran from their efforts who showed some promising attacks until the half time whistle sounded
