To conclude our pre-season, Caerphilly hosted Aberdare Town FC at home for a competitive match.
Caerphilly started the game strong with an early period of attacking putting Aberdare under pressure. The home side struck first scoring two goals before the first waterbreak, finally a breakthrough for Caerphilly. During the short break both teams looked strongwilled and ready to get back to the action. There was an eagerness in Aberdare to come back and put a goal on the home team. They broke through the Caerphilly defense resulting in a goal.
A busy first half of opportunities for Caerphilly resulted in a 5-1 scoreline at the break. During half-time Aberdare suffered some unfortunate injuries to their squad. With both teams keen to continue and finish the match, a few players from Caerphilly joined the Aberdare squad.
Aberdare looked strong, working together players created chances that resulted in 7 goals. The score stood at 9-7 to Caerphilly.
